Job Profile Summary A Public Safety Sergeant is responsible for ensuring a safe learning and working environment, providing leadership and support to Public Safety Officers, and fostering a collaborative relationship with the campus community. The Public Safety Sergeant shall complete the Department of Safety, Security and Emergency and Preparedness (DSSEP) Public Safety Academy if the applicant has not previously completed the Academy as a Broward College Public Safety Officer. Consideration will be given to candidates if the academy program was not completed due to limitations in class size, attendance, and availability. However, the appointed Public Safety Sergeant will still be required to complete the Broward College Public Safety Academy the next time the Academy is offered.…
