About this role
Job Description: Performs correctional work as a correctional deputy in the County's detention center. Work involves learning and practicing the methods and techniques of corrections, and applying the laws and rules of the detention center, to the custody and care of inmates at the center. The work requires specialized training and is performed under close to general supervision. Essential Job Functions Supervises inmates in living areas: controls inmate behavior; enforces rules and regulations including punishments; takes inmate counts; conducts lockdowns and shakedowns; prepares inmates for court; responds to inmate questions and needs; accepts payments, orders and other items for inmates; maintains logs and records.…
