Job Summary: This position is 100% Phone Calls Mon - Fri, 8am-4:30pm No Weekends! Under the supervision of the Unit Director, the RN performs patient care functions as approved by the State of Maine Board of Nursing and St. Joseph Hospital policies and procedures. The Clinical Leader/Charge Nurse will provide direct supervision for the shift that the RN is assigned to. Conduct preadmission telephone assessments with surgical patients to review medical history, current medications, allergies, and preoperative instructions to ensure readiness for surgery. Educate patients and caregivers on preoperative preparation requirements, including fasting guidelines, medication management, arrival times, and postoperative expectations while addressing questions or concerns.…
