Myth vs Reality — the safety season edition MYTH: “It’s just sitting by the pool all day.” REALITY: You are responsible for guest safety at the pool and/or beach area of a hotel in Greece. Attention and presence are your main tasks. MYTH: “Nothing ever happens.” REALITY: Most days are calm — and that’s exactly the goal. But you must stay alert at all times and be ready to react immediately if needed. MYTH: “It’s an easy holiday job.” REALITY: It’s a professional safety role. You hold a valid lifeguard certificate and understand rescue procedures and first aid. MYTH: “You’ll just be alone on your chair.” REALITY: You are part of a structured hotel team.
