About this role
A Camera Operating Assistant prepares and positions cameras that are used to shoot visual images for motion pictures and television shows. Duties include: Ensuring that the camera and all required lenses are prepared for the day's shoot; focusing and refocusing the camera lens as actors move within the frame of each shot; inspecting the equipment to verify that it is in good working order; loading the camera with film; position lighting equipment in preparation for shoots. Qualifications Key skills: good eyesight and the ability to accurately judge distances; agility and speed; precise attention to detail; physical stamina and strength; excellent knowledge of cameras, lenses and all related equipment.
