Overview: This social worker is a member of a passionate multidisciplinary team providing comprehensive care for pediatric patients (birth to 21 years) who require plastic surgery due to congenital anomalies, including cleft lip/palate, skin lesions, and reconstruction following burns and other traumatic injuries. As a valued & highly utilized member of the team, responsibilities include assessment & intervention for barriers to care, acute safety concerns ,transition-to-adulthood planning patient coping/stress management, and general support as families navigate the healthcare system.
