Shift: RN - Observation Unit This 26-bed med-surg unit provides care to patients who require evaluation and treatment for eight to 48 hours. Conditions that may require observation include chest pain, asthma, abdominal pain, kidney stones and minor infections. Surgical patients who require an overnight stay are cared for on the Observation Unit, including patients who have had an appendectomy, cholecystectomy or urological and gynecological procedures. IV antibiotics, fluids, insulin drips, nitroglycerin for blood pressure, TP and lipids are often administered on this unit.…
