Heavy Vehicle Mechanic

Purpose and Scope: Operates, repairs, and maintains heavy power construction equipment such as compressors, pumps, hoists, shovels, trucks, tractors, graders, bulldozers, front-end loaders, scrapers, motor graders, skid steers and associated equipment, and fire trucks. Essential Responsibilities: Perform heavy equipment maintenance activities including installation, repair, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and preventive maintenance. Responsible for operating equipment to maintain roadways and firebreaks by excavating, moving, and grading earth. Disassemble and reassemble engines and mechanical units to inspect and diagnose parts using computerized test equipment, calibration devices, gauges, etc. Repair and overhaul mobile mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.…
