About this role
Company Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City Cash Services, on behalf of the US Treasury, ensures that Depository Institutions such as banks have sufficient supplies of currency and coin to meet public demand. Those institutions deposit currency and coin with the Federal Reserve Bank and Cash Services is the department that handles those deposits. Beside validating deposits, Cash Services also plays an instrumental role in the distribution of new currency and coin, and the retirement and destruction of coin and currency that is unfit for recirculation.
