About this role

The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) is primarily responsible for the delivery of Physical Therapy care to the patient population to which she/he is assigned and the recording of that care in the hospital medical record. The PTA acts as a consultant to various patient populations. The PTA must work under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist according to the laws and practice regulations of the State of Virginia. The Physical Therapist Assistant provides instruction to OT/PT support staff, PT students, personnel of other disciplines within VCUHS, and patient and/or family members.
