About this role

Als internationaal erkend onderzoekscentrum wil VITO de transitie naar een duurzame samenleving versnellen. Met ons onderzoeksprogramma Milieu en Gezondheid zetten we in op een preventieve benadering van gezondheidszorg en ondersteunen we maatschappelijke transities. Een van de pijlers van onze aanpak is het voorkomen van ziekten die veroorzaakt worden door milieuverontreiniging. Ons onderzoek steunt sterk op gegevens uit bevolkingsstudies, waaronder humane biomonitoring, onderzoek naar milieublootstelling en gezondheidsonderzoek. Door chemische metingen bij mensen en in het milieu, blootstellingsmodellen, gezondheidsgegevens en leefstijlfactoren (zoals voeding, stress en toegang tot groen) te combineren, identificeren we gezondheidsrisico’s en ondersteunen we preventieve maatregelen.…
