SUMMARY:
What are the requirements to become a SSO?
School Security Officers must possess a security license from the state.
Additionally, we require the following for SSOs:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
At least five calendar years of verifiable experience as a certified law enforcement officer or its military equivalency; all five years must have occurred within the last seven years. The experience must have included general arrest authority.
Examples of professions that may provide this experience include law enforcement officer and military police.
