Job Summary Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution is currently searching for a Third Assistant Engineer. Reporting to Chief Engineer; is responsible for repair of electrical equiptment, the proper operation of the main propulsion and ship's service generators and, during watch, of the main engines; also supervises un-licensed watch stander. Job Description Checks cleaning, lubrication, and routine maintenance of all machinery and electrical equipment. For the R/V Atlantis also included is maintenance of the Launch and Recovery System (LARS) for the Alvin. Cleans engine room bilges, strainers in lubricating system, and all water pumps, tanks, and connected systems. Ensures safety devices are in proper working condition.…
