About this role
Job Description: Performs maintenance and upkeep, assists in boat handling and public relations and passenger safety duties aboard an historic vessel. Participates in annual vessel and safety training. Mate is assigned to the excursion boat, Wm. B. Tennison, docked at Calvert Marine Museum in Solomons, Maryland, which transits local waters of the Patuxent River and its tributaries. Mate is supervised by the Captain of the vessel. Essential Job Functions Performs daily boat upkeep, maintenance, and cleaning above and below deck during operating season (May-October). Provides narrative over public address system while underway. Assists with pre-season fitting-out and end of season lay-up. Assists with minor repairs, maintenance, and preservation of vessel throughout the year.…
