OVERVIEW The nurse provides safe, patient-centered oncology infusion care by assessing patients, administering prescribed medications and treatments, monitoring for reactions or complications, and educating patients and families throughout treatment. They collaborate with the healthcare team, develop individualized care plans, document care accurately, manage patient flow and telephone triage, and use critical thinking to promote safety and quality care.
